Manchester: Hardik Pandya’s role was crucial in the last ODI against England (ENG vs IND). He performed well with both the bat and the ball. When he bowled, Hardik defended England by taking four wickets and conceding only 24 runs in seven overs. Then when he came to bat, he scored 77 runs off 55 balls. That too while facing a collapse of 72 for four. Later, it was the Hardik-Pant partnership that lifted India.
Hardik was also the star of the series. The Indian all-rounder also spoke about the performance. Hardik’s words… “We all know how good England is. I enjoy playing whiteball a lot. The team was successful in planning the project and executing it on the English pitches. I was trying to stop giving away runs. I love short balls. Even hitting six sixes in an over doesn’t matter. Try to take wickets. That’s what I tried against Liam Livingston. I am a cricketer who doesn’t care about getting hit,” said Hardik.

Hardik also talked about Rishabh Pant scoring a century. “It is already clear how good a cricketer Rishabh is. In the last ODI, he played according to the situation. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma had praised Hardik. Hardik Pandya provided crucial support to the ball with 77 runs off 55 balls. Pant scored 125 runs not out in 113 balls. There were 16 fours and two sixes.

India won the series 2-1. India won the last match by five wickets. After losing the toss, England were all out for 259 in 45.5 overs. In reply, India overcame the target with the loss of just five wickets in 42.1 overs.
