Mumbai: Captain Rishabh Pant’s big mistake due to Delhi Capitals missing out on play-offs in IPL 2022. In the match against Mumbai Indians yesterday, the decision not to take DRS against Tim David was decisive in the match. Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav had dropped an easy catch by Dwald Brevis.

Mumbai lost Dewald Breivis in the 15th over as Delhi chased down the target of 160 runs. Mumbai needed 65 off 33 balls to win this time. Later, Tim David was caught by Shardul Thakur Rishabh off the first ball. Rishabh appealed for the ball to be caught by David Batilurasia but the umpire did not rule out. With two reviews remaining and Rishabh taking the crucial wicket, DRS did not take the ball. Close-in fielders also did not hear the sound of David Batilurasia on the ball.

In replays it was clear that the ball was David’s batlurasi but escaped because the DRS did not take it. David, who came to life on the first ball, then went on to attack Delhi’s play – off hopes to cross the boundary. David’s 34 off 11 balls, including four sixes and two fours, was the last straw to lead Mumbai to victory.

Had they won against Mumbai, Delhi could have secured the play-offs. With the loss of Delhi, Royal Challengers Bangalore reached the play-offs. In batting too, Rishabh’s ball did not rise to normal form yesterday. Delhi were bowled out for 39 off 33 balls.
