After receiving this award, the actor told in an interview that Kannada films do not get a place on OTT platforms and those movies are forced to put on YouTube. Talking to news agency PTI, Rishab Shetty expressed happiness over his big win and thanked his team. He told about the plight of Kannada films that they do not get a place on OTT platforms and are forced to put them on YouTube. The actor highlighted the difficulties faced by Kannada producers in finding OTT platforms for their films.

Rishab Shetty told the condition of Kannada films

He said that his films premiere at festivals and win awards, but they do not get any platforms. Because of this, he does not get any recovery for such films. He said, ‘OTT platforms do not buy Kannada content, so we are forced to put it on YouTube channels. I am fed up with this. We do not get any recovery from such films.’

‘Kantara’ also won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Expressing his happiness on winning this prestigious award, the actor said that he neither expected to win the award nor was excited about winning it. ‘I just do my job, but the credit for Kantara’s win should go to every team member involved in it. I am just one face of it, but there were a lot of technicians who gave their best for the film. I want to thank the people on their behalf. It is because of them that this film became pan India.’
