Public order in the department of Cauca remains very complicated despite the operations of the military forces. This Saturday, July 13, it was revealed that FARC dissidents again attacked members of the National Army who were controlling the town of Ortega, jurisdiction of Cajibio in Cauca, with drones loaded with explosives.
The National Army confirmed the terrorist attack: “Once again, units of the 29th Brigade of the 3rd Division of the National Army, in the town of Ortega, Cajibio, were subjected to a drone attack, which was countered through the response of the troops.”
Likewise, he added: “So far, this command does not report injured soldiers, the offensive maneuvers (battle) against the Jaime Martínez structure continue.”
It was revealed that military forces were deployed in the entire area where the attacks were reported, as they were responding to the attacks of these guerrillas.

A kidnapping in Cauca
The magnitude of kidnappings is still recorded in Colombia, especially in the Cauca Department, where military forces have not been able to prevent terrorist acts by illegal armed groups.
This Saturday, July 13, the release of an economist was announced who was kidnapped while she was at her workplace in Santander de Quilichao, north of Cauca. The plagiarism took place on July 9.
Luis Eduardo Grijalva, the mayor of this region of the country, indicated that the woman had been approached by armed men who forced her to go with them to an area she did not know.

“This information was not leaked to the media because of the security issue and the investigation that was being carried out, which was excellent in various respects,” he said.
Likewise, he said that the work of the police Goula was impeccable: “I thank the officers for acting quickly and timely, as they allow us to reunite her with Leslie, safe and sound.”
For his part, Colonel Giovanni Torres, commander of the Cauca Police, explained that the institution spared no effort to rescue the woman.
“The operation was led by our Gaula along with the Special Operations Group in the town of Caloto. From the very first moment we deployed all our uniformed personnel,” the officer explained.
It was learnt that after being rescued by authorities, the woman was assessed by a medical team and then received by her relatives while authorities continue with investigations to determine who was responsible for the incident.
