Rita Orlando is the new acting General Director of the Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation, succeeding Giovanni Padula.
The professional, a managerial employee of the Foundation, was appointed by the Board of Directors after having verified her availability through an internal consultation, imagining a transition path towards the next public notice that will lead to the appointment of the general director.
“As president and partner of the Foundation for my role as mayor of Matera – commented Domenico Bennardi – I wish Dr. Orlando good luck so that she can work well in this period of transition. She is a figure who represents that adequate historicity in the Foundation, she followed the path of Matera 2019 together with other employees, so we are in the right hands so that the Foundation can recover the work done during the years as European Capital of Culture and find in those experiences a new identity impulse”.
“The collaboration of the Municipality of Matera will be maximum and we hope that the Basilicata Region will release the 2024 funds, necessary to finance salaries and activities”, concluded Mayor Bennardi, thanking Director Padula for his work.
