China is second after New Zealand in terms of honey export. China exports honey worth about $229.6 million annually. China produces 500,000 tons of honey annually. One fourth of the total honey production in the world is produced in China. Argentina is at number three in this list. This country exported honey worth $179.5 million in 2020. This country exports about 75,000 tonnes of honey annually. Argentine honey is considered of high quality. European countries Germany and Ukraine are also among the top five honey exporting countries. After this comes Spain, Brazil and Hungary.

According to the National Bee Board, India produced more than 1,55,000 tonnes of honey in the financial year 2021-22.
