Rivlin and Horam Gaon inside: Storytelling Festival kicks off for the 29th time

Between October 6-17, the 29th Storytelling Festival will be held at the Givatayim Theater. The festival, the largest of its kind in the world, took place for the first time in 1993 under the artistic direction of the storyteller, theater man, writer, poet and media person Yossi Alfi. In recent decades, the Storytelling Festival has become an asset of the Iron Sheep and established its status as a precious cultural treasure in Israeli society, which also religiously preserves the cultures from which we all immigrated to Israel – Yiddish and Ladino, alongside the traditions of the Hayiks, the Iraqis, the Yemenis, and more.

The festival tells the fascinating stories of the State of Israel and its people through the eyes of hundreds of storytellers – media people, artists, military personnel, politicians, people from the entertainment industry, poets, writers and many others from all corners of Israeli society and its nuances. Along with panels on various topics, there will be shows by Tobi and senior cultural figures.

Among the participants in this year’s festival will be: Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, former president Reuven (Rubi) Rivlin, Israel Prize winner Nurit Hirsch, Israel Prize winner for Hebrew singer Yehoram Gaon, Yehoshua Sobol, Gil Shochat and Miki Kam, Shalom Simhon, Shimon Farnes, MK Ram Ben Barak, Moki Tzur, Miri Aloni, Oren Nahari, Doron Nesher, Miki Rosenthal, Sharlah Sharon, Yehuda Atlas, Ron Ben Yishai, Gila Bashari, Avigdor Kahalani, former Mossad officials – Gad Shomron and Reuven Merhav , Nitza Shaul, Einat Shrouf, Doron Solomon, Micah Limor, Rubik Rosenthal, Omri Shalmon and more.

There will also be a special and exciting evening of Israeli artists paying tribute to the singer Miri Aloni with the participation of friends and partners of Derech Mimia in the military band – Ofira Gluska and Radina Cohen, Esti Katz, Noya Mandel and Nitsa Shaul who will unite on stage.
