jpnn.comJAKARTA – Former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil admitted that he was asked by the 2024 President-elect Prabowo Subianto to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.
RK said this when he met the TKN Fanta Prabowo-Gibran team in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (2/9).
“One of the reasons I went to Jakarta was because he (Prabowo) asked me to, he asked me to take care of Jakarta,” said RK at the location.
He admitted that he actually still wants to be a leader or gubernatorial candidate for a second term in West Java.
“Frankly, if I want my comfort zone, it’s in West Java because I’ve been governor there,” he said.
Moreover, the level of approval from the people of West Java for him is already 90 percent.
However, because Prabowo specifically asked him to take care of Jakarta, the former Governor of West Java agreed.
“But Mr. Prabowo asked ‘please take care of Jakarta’ and because the Golkar Party is in the same coalition, so I said I was ready to be assigned to Jakarta,” he said. (mcr4/jpnn)
