The government adds a tombstone in the 2025 road tax extension too the law passed and provides for increased fines for those who are late paying.
It may have been untill last year that an extension was always given for paying road tax, but with the new law owners must pay road tax by 31 December. This was also confirmed by Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis, who said speaking yesterday on the OPEN morning show that an extension will not be given.
“Previously, the law stated doubling the fine for anyone who delayed the payment. Now the fines will be graduated, trying to show that we are changing the page,” he said.
