The World Olympic Wrestling Qualification Tournament continues in Istanbul (Türkiye).
According to İdman.biz, women will start fighting on the second day of the competition.
5 members of the Azerbaijani national team will also compete on the mat. Our women’s team, which has not yet qualified for Paris 2024, will try to take advantage of the last chance. The winners of the first 3 places will receive the right to participate in the Olympic Games.

Four-time Olympic medalist Maria Stadnik will begin the competition from the 1/8 finals. In her first match, she defeated Meng Xie (Chinese Taipei) with a complete advantage (11:0) and reached the quarter finals. Stadnik at this stage also defeated Violetta Chirik (Neutral) with a complete advantage (11:0) and reached the semi-finals. In the semi-finals she lost to the DPRK representative Song Hyang Kim and will now have a repechage bout.
