The attackers robbed a bank branch in Yekaterinburg. According to preliminary data, they stole several million rubles. This was announced on November 30 by the head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region Valery Gorelykh.
According to Gorelykh, a branch of the bank on Kosmonavtov Street was robbed. Police officers are working at the scene. The exact amount of damage can be named after the completion of the inventory.
As explained in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region, the bank employees in the morning could not get into the building. The foremen were summoned to the place and opened the doors.
“There was a mess inside the office. It is obvious that the attackers carefully prepared for the crime, as special equipment was damaged. <...> Specialists of the private security company went to the place of the emergency, which had a security agreement with the bank. But they didn’t find the break-in and went back, moreover, they didn’t even inform the police, ”Gorelykh told TASS.
Prior to that, on September 4, law enforcement officers detained a suspect in the robbery of a Sberbank branch in the city of Kudrovo, Leningrad Region. The detainee was a 56-year-old resident of the Novgorod region.
The police received a message from the manager of a bank branch about a robbery. The police found that a man entered the financial institution and, threatening with objects like a pistol and a grenade, demanded that the cashier give him money in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. Then he took the money and disappeared.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime provided for in part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Robbery”).
