Spanish Formula One driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) was the object of the theft of his watch in Milan (northern Italy)what managed to recover after chasing and retaining the thieveswith the help of several members of his team and some passersby.
Sainz, who finished third in the Italian Grand Prix held this Sunday in Monza, was at the doors of the Milanese hotel where he was staying when he was approached by three people who surrounded him and, using a misdirection techniquethe watch was taken from him, local media reported.
The pilot, who initially thought it was three fans, began to chase them and managed to stop the thief who was wearing the watch, with the help of two citizens who were passing by at the time. The other two were blocked a short distance away by two members of their team along with several passers-by.
The three thieves, of Moroccan nationality and ages between 18 and 20 yearsThey were arrested by the police and taken to the police station, where Sainz filed a complaint. The watch recovered by Sainz was a Richard Mille, Alexander Zverev model, valued at more than 300,000 eurosaccording to the same sources.
