On his road bike, Robert cycled a distance of 130 km without using both hands, completing the challenge in 5 hours and 37 minutes. Having lost his grandmother to Alzheimer’s disease and witnessing other family members battle the illness, Robert’s motivation for this exceptional achievement stems from a personal connection. “Some of my family members have Alzheimer’s disease. My grandmother died of this disease. I’m very happy to have achieved the Guinness World Record and to have been able to raise much-needed money for those close to me,” shared Robert.
Cycling has been a passion for Robert since childhood, biking with his sister to the pool in the mornings. At the age of 15, he bought his first road bike, and it was on this very cycle that he accomplished the record-breaking feat.
Despite facing several challenges, including a broken bicycle gear and seat during the journey, Robert persevered and continued his ride without giving up. Amidst months of rigorous training, finding a suitable location and volunteers, and repairing his bicycle, Robert never wavered in his determination to succeed.
