The news of the death of lawyer Roberto Hinestrosa Rey, former student, professor, dean and founder of the Faculty of Finance, Government and International Relations of the Externado University of Colombia, was known.

Hinestrosa completed his studies in France, where he completed a postgraduate degree in Comparative Law at the University of Paris II Panthéon Sorbonne.

Although he dedicated most of his life to academia, he was Deputy Minister of Justice between 1992 and 1994; Then, between 1999 and 2000, he was office secretary in the Government of Cundinamarca.

Likewise, he served as Delegate Attorney for the Economy and Public Finance in 2001 and, subsequently, Delegate Attorney for Decentralization and Territorial Entities between 2005 and 2008. Upon finishing this position, he was chief of staff of the Government of Cundinamarca in 2008.

For his career, he was awarded the Order of the Congress of Colombia, in the rank of Knight, in 2006. He finished his career as a councilor of Bogotá for the Cambio Radical party, re-elected for the period 2016-2019.
