Robin Roberts and Amber Laign, popular television personality and her longtime partner, have tied the knot. The couple got married in a beautiful and intimate wedding ceremony held in their own backyard.
Roberts took to Instagram to share the joyous news with her followers. Alongside a heartwarming photo of herself and Laign holding hands in their wedding gowns, Roberts wrote, “An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception… ohhhh the dancing!! We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!”
The couple, who have been together since 2005, exchanged vows on Friday. The wedding was officiated by Roberts’ childhood pastor, adding a meaningful touch to the ceremony.
Roberts, a veteran anchor for “Good Morning America,” also shared a delightful moment from the reception. She posted a video of her siblings walking out to make a toast while dancing to Montell Jordan’s hit song “This Is How We Do It,” which she described as one of the many highlights of the celebration.
Both Roberts and Laign wore custom Badgley Mischka wedding gowns, adding a touch of elegance and style to their special day.
This wedding comes after Roberts publicly announced her plans to marry Laign earlier this year during a conversation with author and motivational speaker Gabby Bernstein. The couple decided to prioritize their relationship after Laign’s battle with breast cancer.
In February 2022, Roberts revealed Laign’s breast cancer diagnosis through a video posted on Twitter. She later updated her followers in July, confirming that Laign had completed a portion of her treatment. Roberts herself battled breast cancer in 2007 and underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2012.
After overcoming their health challenges, Roberts and Laign are embracing their love and celebrating their journey together. In an interview on “Good Morning America” in August, Roberts opened up about their relationship, saying, “Many people go into marriage hoping for and looking for what Amber and I already know we have, and so ours is a celebration. We’ve been living our happily ever after through all the ups and downs, so it’s a celebration.”
