In a dystopian Detroit in the throes of delinquency, on the verge of economic collapse, a murdered policeman – Alex Murphy – is transformed into a cyborg to continue his fight against crime: thus begins “RoboCop”, a 1987 film directed by Paul Verhoeven. In the role of the protagonist we find the actor Peter Weller who, when wearing the RoboCop costume, could not get into the police car because it was too bulky (which is why he appears most of the time while entering and exiting the vehicle) . But this is not the only curiosity about the film – which has become a real cult over the years – which can be seen on Spike on Thursday 17 June at 9.30 pm.
