As technologies are developing at lightning speed, they are also displacing humans from many jobs that are being replaced by machines. Robots are one of the amazing things that are currently being introduced into our jobs in that way. They are the only equals to robots in doing our jobs faster and more accurately than us. Due to this the human potential is reduced. As robots are currently operating in various fields, human brains are analyzing how they can be improved.
In that way various efforts are being made to use robots as efficiently as possible. In that way, Shivam Watts, a graduate student studying at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, has successfully planned robots to do many jobs with his efforts. He is a student of IIT Kharagpur and hails from Jharkhand. Even though it is difficult to teach a robot many new things based on America’s algorithm, he has succeeded in doing so. If a job is too new for a machine, it is better for a human to do it. Student Shivam has undertaken this endeavor without looking at what kind of jobs are most suitable for humans at present.
Robots are programmed to follow the commands we give them. Whereas when robots are programmed to do a job and do it over and over again for months or even years, they seem a bit surprising to us. A key assumption in his thesis, he says, is that when you teach a robot, it learns a skill, but only in one task. But he says he learned that skills can be put to better use if they are trained in multiple tasks.
