Through your X account (@rochamoya_), the governor of the State of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, launched a call to the population of his state to remain calm after the violent events that occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, August 29, in a community in the municipality of Jesús María in Culiacán.

“I call on the people of Culiacán to remain calm. The situation that has come to light is being addressed and is focused outside the city. In any case, it is recommended to pay attention to official information and avoid information that is issued unofficially with the sole purpose of causing alarm.”

Rocha Moya confirmed the version spread by General Gerardo Mérida Sánchez, head of the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat, which reported that federal government security forces were attacked by armed civilians.

“In light of this, a coordinated deployment was carried out with the participation of authorities from the three levels of government.

“This led civilians to set fire to two vehicles on Mexico Highway 15, near El Limón de los Ramos, in order to obstruct the action of the authorities, and these are the images that have been circulating on social media,” the statement reads.
