A rock climbing school for beginners is organized by the Hellenic Mountaineering Association (EOS) of Ioannina, in the context of the promotion of rock climbing.

The beginner’s school aims to teach techniques and maneuvers so that the climber can be autonomous in an organized “one-rope” climbing field and as a second on “adventure” routes. Previous climbing experience is not necessary.
A condition for participation in the school is registration in the EOS of Ioannina or in any association of the Hellenic Mountaineering & Climbing Federation (EOAA). Those interested must be over 18 years of age, in good health, certified by a cardiologist, and in good physical condition. The place of the courses are the climbing fields of Epirus, as well as Meteora.
On Wednesday, April 24, at 7 pm, there will be a meeting at the offices of EOS Ioannina (Smirnis 15) for the first introduction of the candidates, information about the program, submission of applications and supporting documents, as well as borrowing of materials.
On the three days of May 10-12 there will be training in the climbing fields in Frontzo – Karteri – Pertousa, on May 17-19 in Vonitsa – Mytika and on May 30-31 and June 1-2 in Meteora. Instructors will be EOAA climbing instructor – IFMGA mountain guide Iraklis Mousidis and EOAA climbing assistant instructor Christos Avgitas.
Registrations and information at the offices of EOS Ioannina and at the phone number 2651022138 (Monday to Saturday 19:00 – 21:00) and at the e-mail [email protected]. More information on the association’s website orivatikos.gr. The maximum number of participants is 12. Priority will be given.
