“Rock the Dolomites”, ten bands in Val Gardena between huts, refuges and après ski – Culture and Entertainment

BOLZANO. As usual, for ten years now, Val Gardena has been filled with rock music combined in all possible variations, with Rock the Dolomites. For a week, from Friday 15th to 23rd March, 10 bands will perform in front of mountain huts, refuges, bars and aprés ski, in car parks and squares. Rock the Dolomites is a music festival that no one expects in the tranquility and quiet typical of Val Gardena. Tourists, young and not only, have shown, in past editions, that they appreciate the initiative, because it is nice, in the snow and in front of breathtaking views, to listen to music. Rock the Dolomites also opens the start of the annual spring ski season, a key moment and, at the same time, a sort of closing of the ski season in Val Gardena.

This musical event, which features many young bands, has in fact the mountain tops, snow-covered meadows and ski slopes as its natural stage, to allow everyone to have fun and dance, between one descent and another. Yesterday the inaugural concert in Baita Pra Valentini with Madax who have been playing together since 2012 and offer songs inspired by 80s rock. Bands like Toto or Pink Floyd are the points of reference and in their concerts they present a vast range of sounds, ranging from rock rhythms to ballads, as well as original songs written by the musicians who form the band, whose name is composed of their initials.

Today, Saturday 16 March, big party at Dantercëpies Mountain Lounge with the Special Celebrating 10 yers of RTD event. Four bands took turns on stage, PopCorner, Timbreroots, Howlin’ Pussy Experience and the grand finale with Pëufla.

Sunday 17 March at the Baita Ciampac the band from Val Gardena takes to the stage Sun | seida, namely, Gabriel Demetz (guitar), Pauli Moroder (drums), Carmen Insam (vocals), Ujep Runggaldier (keyboards) and Martin Demetz (bass). Monday 18 March i Waydlee they will be on stage at Danter Eat downstream of the Dantercepies. This group from Val Gardena is much loved and followed in the valley and beyond. Stefan, Ivan and Maikol are three passionate musicians with a vast repertoire ranging from rock/pop and blues to country, reggae and folk. Tuesday 19 March at Rifugio Salai they will be The Giggers to fill the audience with enthusiasm. Sequins, sequins and disco-funk: the band The Giggers, with its enthralling enthusiasm, will revive the legendary 70s/80s: Chic, Earth, Wind and Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summer and all the protagonists of disco music in a concert everything to dance to.

Wednesday 20 March at the Also Panorama it will be up to The Matt Project, a consolidated reality of the Italian soul, funk and rock scene. The band is known internationally, with several “lives” throughout Europe and in New York, in the legendary club “The Bitter End”, where they are often present as headliners on weekends. He also boasts collaborations with Steve Greenwell (producer of Joss Stone), Renee Neufville (RH Factor), Will Lee (CBS Orchestra), and Frank McComb. The band also performed at major European concerts at the “Mojo Blues Club” in Copenhagen and the “Pizza Express” in London.

Thursday 21 March Riccardo Inge with his musicians he will be on stage at the Also Saslonch, partly in the role of singer-songwriter and partly with the band, with well-shaked songs to dance to, an endless cascade of notes with melodic and aggressive rock medleys, interspersed with unreleased songs with a modern and captivating sound. Also on Thursday 21st at theAfter Ski Snowbar they will also perform The Killbilly’s which blend rockabilly and blues, with high energy rock’n’roll and neo-rockabilly & surf influences. Friday 22nd Blackout they will play at the La Stua After Ski Bar. The band is made up of 12 members who, in addition to the classic guitar, bass and drums, also bring the violin, sax and trombone to the stage.

Finally, on Saturday 23rd in the context of the twenty-sixth edition of the Südtirol Gardenissima, at the Col Raiser Valley Parkingthey will perform The Jam’son, a band that represents fun, entertainment and pure energy. Their huge repertoire includes Rock/Pop/Reggae/Oldies/Funk/Blues/Fox and original songs.
