A former Rockstar Games developer, specifically of the GTA saga, called Obbe Vermeijwho worked for 14 years within ‘Rockstar North’ and left the company in 2009went viral thanks to a post on his blog where he talked about some canceled games like the missing one ‘Agent‘ which was going to be a PlayStation exclusive during the PS3 era.
It didn’t take long to hear more news from Vermeij, who wrote again to tell everyone that Rockstar had contacted him to ask him to remove his blog posts regarding details of canceled games. «I genuinely didn’t think anyone would care about me talking about games from 20 years ago, but I was wrong.» said the former dev.
He also said that he had been told that this was “damaging the mystique of Rockstar«. That is why the former developer decided to delete what he had written because he considers that his blog is not important enough to bother his former colleagues, and will only leave anecdotes that do not affect other people.
The information he published about ‘Agent‘ confirmed some details that people had already anticipated many years ago, such as that it was going to be set in the 1970s, taking as its main point the famous ‘Cold War‘. However, the project was shelved as it ended up being considered a “distraction” from the work that Rockstar was doing with the GTA saga.
