The American Rockstar Games, specializing in the development and publishing of computer games, will release the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI in December this year, said company president Sam Houser. The announcement is expected ahead of the studio’s 25th anniversary.

“Rockstar Games was founded in 1998 with the idea that video games could become an indispensable part of culture alongside other forms of entertainment, and we hope we’ve created the games you love as we strive to be part of that evolution. In early December we will show the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We expect to share such games for many, many years to come,” said Hauser, as quoted by the company’s press service.

Work on a new part of the game became known in February 2022. In September of the same year, videos with gameplay of the test version of GTA VI were leaked online. The footage showed gameplay for male and female characters. Rockstar responded to the leak by confirming the authenticity of the leaked videos. The studio emphasized that the attackers only gained access to screenshots and videos of the early version of the game.

Rockstar Games did not announce the exact release date of the trailer. It is possible that it could be timed to coincide with The Game Awards 2023 ceremony on the night of December 7-8.

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) is a series of multi-platform action-adventure games created by developers David Jones and Mike Daley. Brothers Dan and Sam Houser, Leslie Benzies and Aaron Garbutt also took part in the development of a number of games in the series. The title of the episode refers to the term grand theft auto, used in the United States to refer to car theft.

As of February 2022, about 90% of the Russian video game market was accounted for by large foreign players. The largest game studios that left Russia, in particular RockStar Games, blocked users’ access to content. Gamers began to actively use pirated versions of games. In 2022, two-thirds (69%) of Russian users played at least one pirated copy, and 51% of players began to pirate more often than they did in 2021.
