“Rocky IV”, 40 unpublished minutes arrive: Stallone in hospital for Ivan Drago’s (real) beatings and the other 9 secrets of the film

by time news

The third sequel to the hit 1976 “Rocky” “Rocky IV”, released in 1985, was written, directed and starring Sylvester Stallone, who once again played the role of Italian-American boxer Rocky Balboa. In this fourth chapter of the saga (a sort of confrontation between the USA and the USSR in the years of the Cold War, the American dream against the Communist state) the protagonist returns to the ring to face the fearsome and glacial Soviet champion Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), who during a meeting (a mere sporting demonstration in the intentions) had shot his friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) to death. Waiting to see the film on the big screen in US cinemas, with 40 more minutes of cut scenes, here is a collection of little-known curiosities.
