Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s picture with a police officer has been taken over by the social media. Before the India-South Africa match, the police officer took a photo with Rohit and shared it on Twitter. The photo immediately went viral and netizens started asking if the ‘hitman’ had been arrested.
The picture was taken ahead of the second Twenty20 match between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday. Assam Deputy Commissioner of Police Ponjit Dowara shared the picture with Rohit on Twitter. “Congratulations. A century is a must”.
Some misunderstood the police commissioner’s gesture of wishing Rohit good luck before the match and suspected that the Indian skipper had been arrested. Both of them are not smiling in the picture which strengthened the suspicion. “Why is Rohit so serious and looks like he’s under arrest or under arrest,” another wrote on Twitter. Anyway, fans are relieved that the truth is out.
