Mumbai: The BCCI on Monday announced Rohit Sharma as the captain of India’s ODI team. Rohit is being brought in to replace Virat Kohli. One faction is protesting the replacement of Koli. Despite Kohli’s refusal to change his captaincy, the BCCI has reportedly removed him. Kohli became India’s Test captain in 2015. When MS Dhoni stepped down in 2017, he became the captain of the fixed over cricket team.
Ravi Shastri was the coach when Kohli and Rohit played together. Shastri also has something to say when Koli gives way to Rohit. “Rohit is not a coward. He has done everything the team needs him to do. Rohit will use even small things.
When I became the coach of the Indian team in 2014, there was only one big player there. It was MS Dhoni. The next superstar is Kohli and Rohit, ”said Shastri.
Former coach Shastri said that the ambassadors of Test cricket are now the Indian team. Despite not winning the ICC title, Ravi Shastri has helped India to the top in Test cricket.
Rohit was named captain when the squad for the tour of South Africa was announced. Rohit was also announced as the vice-captain of the Test cricket team.
