Even though he is now the captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma struggled to buy cricket-related items in his childhood.

Pragyan Ojha, former Indian player and current IPL board member shared this information.

Rohit and Ojha have been playing together since childhood. Debuting first with the Indian Under-15 team, then the Under-19 team, the national team, Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the duo’s journey together continued over the years.

Ojha noted that Rohit was known for his prowess at an early age.

“Rohit was born in a middle-class family. He became emotional as he shared how he struggled to buy a ‘cricket kit’ as a child without money. In fact, he has even bagged milk for it. I am very proud to see him now,” said Ojha.

Rohit, who made his debut for the Indian team in 2007, was appointed as the captain of the Indian team for all the three types of T20, ODI and Test matches last year.

Rohit led the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2022.

In this case, the Indian team will also participate in the World Cup ODI matches to be held in the country in the months of October-November this year under his leadership.
