As the Rolex has become a trend for a variety of reasons, a Rolex watch worn by Gerald, a British man who was imprisoned in Germany during World War II, has recently been auctioned for $ 189,000.

According to Christie’s auction house, a Rolex watch worn by Gerald during a prison escape from Hitler’s prisons on March 24, 1944, helped calculate the time required to escape through the tunnel.

Of the 200 prisoners, only 76 escaped. Although Gerald was not able to escape that day, he was not among the 50 people killed that day.
