The football carnival in Israel started tonight (Saturday) with a huge game at Sami Ofer. Roma, of Jose Mourinho, met Tottenham, of Antonio Conte, for a friendly match, and 24,000 spectators at the Haifa field enjoyed a great celebration. In the end, it was the Italian team that came out with the upper hand, when a goal by Roger Ibanez gave them a small 0:1. Paulo Dybala, the new star of the Wolves, was signed to the cooking.
The opening of the game was stormy and offensive. Already in the first minute, Paulo Dybala had a great opportunity, but his kick was blocked and Hugo Lloris prevented the Avraham midfielders from scoring on the second attempt. As the minutes passed, the tempo died down and the game balanced out. In the 29th minute, the net moved for the first time, when Roger Ines hit the net well after Dybala’s corner. At the break, Mourinho led 0:1 over Conte.
Even in the second half, both teams struggled to create situations and the game was equal overall, with Tottenham having an advantage in possession of the ball. The atmosphere was also heated, and Vigal Fried even drew yellow cards for Christian Romero and Lorenzo Pellegrini. In the 89th minute, Harry Kane had a great opportunity to equalize, but hit the goal from close range and in the end Roma won 0:1.
As mentioned, the friendly match was the opening shot for a football festival that will be held this summer in Israel. Tomorrow at 21:00 the French Super Cup will be held at Bloomfield Stadium, when Paris Saint-Germain will meet Nantes. Later this summer, Juventus and Atlético Madrid will come to Israel for another friendly match.
