Kyiv: Ukraine has alleged that the two missiles fired by Russia into the country violated Romania’s airspace. But NATO member Romania denied Ukraine’s claim. Ukraine’s military chief accused Russian missiles of violating Moldova’s airspace during their approach to Ukraine.
The Romanian Defense Ministry said it had detected a missile launched from a Russian ship in the Black Sea but had not crossed its airspace. The ministry also stated that the closest distance recorded on the radar between the Romanian border and the path of the missile was 35 km. After the missile launch, two MiG-21 aircraft of Romania carried out surveillance in the area.
Meanwhile, Moldova summoned the Russian ambassador after the missile flew through its airspace. Also in October, a Russian missile violated Moldova’s airspace. At the same time, Ukraine announced that it had shot down 61 of the 71 Russian cruise missiles that arrived in the country yesterday.
