After the dismissal of Jose Mourinho following the bad season that the team is going through, Roma surprised and also moved the whole of Italy, when they appointed Daniele de Rossi as the replacement of “the special”. Six minutes passed, and Roma scored the second. El Shaarawi was once again entrusted with the job of cooking, this time handing over to Lorenzo Pellegrini who bombed the other one from close range. In the second half, Michael Foloroncho pulled one back in the 76th minute, but it was too little too late for the visitors from the bottom.
De Rossi, who received a particularly warm welcome from the crowd, can be satisfied with the victory in his first game as the team’s coach, which comes after three games in which the Giallorossi have not won.
Thanks to the victory, Roma, who will meet Salerno in the next round, temporarily moves up to eighth place in the table with 32 points, just one point behind sixth-placed Lazio and two points from fourth-placed Fiorentina, with both still having to play later in the round. On the other hand, Verona is in 18th place, below the red line.
