/ Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo ended the year 2023 as the world’s top scorer after playing his last match for the year yesterday, Saturday, commenting on that with a statement about his fate in football.

The Russian website “RT Arabic” stated that the year 2023 was exceptional in Ronaldo’s career, as he played his last match yesterday and led his team, Al-Nasr, to sweep Al-Taawoun 4-1 by scoring the fourth goal.

Ronaldo raised his goal tally this year to 54 goals, topping the world’s top scorers, surpassing by two goals England’s Harry Kane, Bayern Munich striker, and Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain star, and ahead by four goals of Manchester City’s top scorer Norwegian international Erling Haaland.

After the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Taawoun, Ronaldo posted a picture of himself celebrating his goal against Al-Taawoun on his Instagram account, writing: “54 – I will say when the end will come! Thanks to the team.”

Through this post, Ronaldo, 38, wanted to emphasize that he is the one who will decide when to end his career and that he will not listen to critics who demand that he retire from football as he gets older.
