The Euros are over and now we are back to a long club season. The top 5 European championships are starting with a new line-up! What are the final results in the second leagues of England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France? Who has risen to the elite? Let’s take a look.
EPL
“Leicester”, “Ipswich”, “Southampton”

The Foxes took first place in the Championship, although they made fans nervous at the end. Leicester lost three times in the last six rounds, but retained the lead. Three familiar teams are back in La Liga. Leganes (Lionel Messi’s favourite club) are in the Spanish elite for the first time since 2020. The team from the suburbs of Madrid took first place in Segunda.
Valladolid is just two points behind. The club, whose president is the legendary Ronaldo, returned to Primera after a season. Now we will see Zubastik more often on the broadcasts of the Spanish championship matches.
The whole season of Primera has been without the classic Catalan derby Barcelona – Espanyol. But it will happen again! The team finished fourth in Segunda, got into the promotion playoffs and won it. First, Espanyol beat Sporting Gijon: the teams scored only one goal in two matches (0:0, 1:0). But the main thing is that the Catalans reached the final. There, in a two-match confrontation, they were stronger than Real Oviedo (0:1, 2:0).
Bundesliga
St. Pauli, Holstein Kiel
The first Bundesliga is waiting for only two newcomers. Fortuna from Dusseldorf lost to Bochum in the playoffs. And it turned out to be the most epic story. In the first match, Fortuna won away – 3:0. It would seem, what could go wrong? But in the return match, Bochum smashed the opponent in Dusseldorf with a score of 4:0. An incredible scenario!
But St. Pauli and Holstein Kiel have secured their place in the First Bundesliga with a surplus. The Pirates have only found themselves in the top flight for the ninth time in their history, the last time being in the 2010/2011 season. And Holstein Kiel will play in the First Bundesliga for the first time in the club’s 113 years of existence! There is no doubt that every match of the season in Kiel will be packed to capacity.
Serie A
«Parma», «Como», «Venice»
An important team for Italian football, Parma, has returned to Serie A. The yellow-blues left the elite in 2021 and returned three years later. Parma was brought to Serie A by coach Fabio Pecchia, who has experience working as an assistant on Rafael Benitez’s staff at Napoli and Real Madrid.
Como finished the season in second place. The team will play in Serie A for the first time since 2003. And its coach is Cesc Fabregas!
