Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s sacking from Manchester United, it has been reported that his son Ronaldo Jr. is also set to leave Manchester United.

Ronaldo Jr., who scored 50 goals from 20 appearances in Los Blancos’ academy, returned to Old Trafford with his father a year ago when he joined United from Juventus. However, after Cristiano Ronaldo was sacked following his rift with Manchester United, his son Ronaldo Jr. has followed in his father’s footsteps by leaving Manchester United and rejoining Real Madrid’s youth academy, according to reports from Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently gave a controversial interview with Piers Morgan. After that interview he was announced to be sacked from Manchester United. Speaking in that interview, he said, “Yes, I felt betrayed. Some people didn’t want me here (Manchester United). Not only this year, but last year as well.”

After that interview controversy, Manchester United decided to terminate Ronaldo’s contract, announcing last November that “Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United by mutual consent”.

Since leaving Old Trafford, Ronaldo has been without a club. He was recently rumored to be joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Nasr.

Amidst speculation over a move to the Saudi Arabian club, Al Nasser club sporting director Marcelo Salazar has spoken out, saying the Saudi club will always be “waiting” for Ronaldo and that “the future will unfold in due time”.

Marcelo Salazar, who spoke in the interview, said, “I am not allowed to say yes or no. Let’s wait and see how things pan out till the end of this year. You are watching. It’s not just for the club; It is a huge negotiation for the country and world football. And it should be conducted by higher authorities.

From what I can say, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best in football history. He has always been a role model for me as an athlete. His will to succeed. Then, as a Portuguese citizen, I always cheered him on. However, the future will emerge only when the time is right,” he added.
