Roscosmos plans to launch ten meteorological satellites into orbit by 2027

In Russia, it is planned to launch 10 meteorological satellites by 2027, according to a joint report by Roscosmos and Roshydromet.

According to the materials, in 2022 it is planned to launch two vehicles – “Meteor-M” (with numbers 2-3 and 2-4) and “Electro-L” number 4. In 2023, the launch of “Electro-L” number 5 and ” Arktika-M “number 2, in 2024 -” Meteor-M “number 2-5, in 2025 -” Arktika-M “number 3 and” Meteor-M “number 2-6. In 2026 and 2027 – “Arktika-M” with numbers 4 and 5.

The report notes that four Russian meteorological satellites are currently operating in orbit – two Meteora-M (2 and 2-2), as well as two Electro-L (2 and 3). Flight tests are also carried out by the device “Arktika-M” number 1.
