Visitors to Parliament to observe plenary sessions can now only come during parliamentary scrutiny, but not during their legislative work. This was ordered by the chairman Rosen Zhelyazkov.
This became clear during today’s meeting, which was attended by small students from the “Hristo Botev” school in Aytos. Apparently, they were supposed to watch the morning blitz control, which fell through, so they were allowed to stay and see first-hand how the deputies vote on laws.
Tsvetan Predov was the first to draw attention to the little visitors, who greeted them from the stand. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is the future of Bulgaria, not your behavior,” he told his colleagues, pointing to the students, and those speaking after him began to address them directly with the words “Dear children.”
The moderator of the meeting, Rositsa Kirova, made a remark not to address the children. However, Georgi Georgiev from “Vazrazhdane” addressed them during his emotional speech, in which there were hints and insults, and the deputies from the banks shouted.
“Since everyone invites groups to visit the National Assembly, I hope you now understand the decision of Mr. Speaker that this should only happen during parliamentary control and not when there is a legislative part,” Kirova said, and that’s how Zhelyazkov’s decision became clear.
In the traditional building of the National Assembly, there were groups of visitors every day. They could walk around the sidelines of the parliament, have lunch with the deputies in the chair, as well as watch their meetings from the balconies in the plenary hall. Often there were also students. However, since the people’s representative moved to the building of the former party house in September, visitors rarely come.
