Roskomnadzor explained Senator Sheikin’s statement about blocking VPN services

Roskomnadzor (RKN) will have the right to independently make decisions on blocking services that disseminate information about methods of bypassing blocking of content prohibited in Russia. Now this right is reserved for the Prosecutor General’s Office and the courts, a representative of Roskomnadzor explained to Vedomosti.

The legislation in force since July 2023 prohibits the dissemination of information about ways and means of bypassing blocking of access to illegal content, a representative of RKN reminded Vedomosti.
