Roskomnadzor suggested using AI to monitor video games

by time news

The Scientific and Technical Center of the Main Radio Frequency Center (GRFC) of Roskomnadzor proposed using artificial intelligence to protect Russians, primarily children, from malicious information by monitoring the content of video games, Kommersant reported, citing a study.

In the center, the publication was told that with the help of AI in video games, it is possible to track child pornography, calls to commit suicide and drug use. There are games with their own deep and thoughtful universes, the study of which will take hundreds or thousands of hours, which will be difficult for humans. AI can be used as a recommendation service, and an expert must make a decision based on all the available information.

Roskomnadzor said that the study of the GRFC is relevant due to the active introduction of artificial intelligence, but the algorithms must be controlled by a person so that their use does not lead to a violation of human rights and freedoms.

Producer of Owlcat Games studio Maxim Fomichev said that the STC proposal is a neural network auxiliary program for autotests, which itself goes through all levels of the game and gives a report, including technical information. Arseny Kondratyev, head of Liquid Studio Accenture in Russia, added that it is possible to identify conflicting content in video games using a combination of several neural networks, but for each new game, a separate network will need to be trained to learn how to pass it, and this can take months.
