Roskosmos began development of a universal spacecraft simulator

by time news

A universal simulator for a manned spacecraft for Russian cosmonauts will be created based on virtual reality technology. Roskosmos subsidiary RK-Tsifra will be engaged in production.

The Cosmonaut Training Center has already requested one of the samples for testing. It is now important to create a universal simulator. So that it would be suitable both for the Soyuz spacecraft, which is being flown now, and for the Eagle spacecraft, which will replace it in the near future.

The experience of training aircraft pilots was used to make new simulators. However, for astronauts, some elements outside of virtual reality technology will be added. For example, imitation of weightlessness.
