Rosnedra threatened to revoke the license from the emergency mine “Listvyazhnaya”

by time news

Rosprirodnadzor checked the Listyavzhnaya mine in Kuzbass, where 51 people died from a methane explosion in November 2021. The audit showed that the mine does not comply with the standards for the level of coal production. In this regard, Rosnedra intends to revoke the license for the use of subsoil ahead of schedule.

As explained in Rosnedra, a license to develop the mine was issued to Listvyazhnaya Mine LLC for a period from October 17, 2003 to December 31, 2040. The document regulates the exploration and production of coal, as well as the use of waste from mining and processing industries, TASS reports.

When the meeting of the commission on early termination of the right to use subsoil will take place is still unknown.

On the morning of November 25, 2021, 285 people were in the mine at the time of the explosion. For several months prior to the explosion, as the investigation believes, sufficient air was not supplied to the mine, which led to an explosive concentration of methane.
