Epidemic thresholds for the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) have been exceeded in 62 regions of Russia. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper with reference to the statement of Rospotrebnadzor.
“In the total population, the epidemic thresholds for the incidence of ARVI have been exceeded in 62 constituent entities of the Russian Federation,” the message says.
According to the Research Institute of Influenza. A.A. Smorodintsev, in the period from 13 to 19 September, the incidence rate of the ARVI population was 84.8 people per 10 thousand of the population, which is 52.8% higher than the weekly epidemic threshold.
At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor clarified that in Russia today, a moderate level of ARVI incidence has been recorded, due mainly to respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology. “At the same time, the excess of the weekly thresholds for the incidence of influenza and ARVI is observed mainly among the adult population, as well as children in the age group of 7-14 years,” they explained.
