The output of passenger cars in July doubled compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 41,100 units, should from Rosstat data.

Despite the fact that the output of passenger cars increased compared to July last year, in terms of dynamics by June, on the contrary, it decreased by 4.3%. In total, since the beginning of the year, 244,000 passenger cars have been produced in Russia. This is 18.6% more than in January – July 2022.

The production of trucks demonstrated similar dynamics. So, in comparison with last year, in July, the output increased by 29% to 12,400 units, but this is 13.5% less than the result in June. In January – July 2023, the production of this category of vehicles increased by 8.7% to 87,400 units.

The situation is similar in the production of buses. Last month, 1,700 buses with a maximum weight of no more than 5 tons were produced. This is 77.9% higher than the results of 2022 and 27.8% lower than the results of June. For seven months, the production of such buses increased by 75.3% compared to last year to 11,100 units. A less significant increase was in the production of buses with a permissible weight of more than 5 tons. In June, 966 units were produced – 18.2% more than July 2022, but 23.9% less than June 2023. Since the beginning of the year, 7200 vehicles have been assembled in Russia buses – an increase of 6.9%.

Compared to July 2022, the production of trams and trolleybuses increased significantly last month. The output of the former increased three times – up to 30 units, the second – 2.8 times to 61 units.

On August 3, during a meeting with heads of manufacturing enterprises, the president said that all Russian officials should drive domestically produced cars. After that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that Russian automakers have all the necessary capacities to supply cars to government agencies.
