100 percent of the shares of “Rostelecom”, a telecommunications operator operating in Armenia, have been put up for sale, and there is already a buyer. This information was confirmed to “News” by the chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Garegin Baghramyan.
“GNC-Alfa” CJSC, which represents the “Rostelecom” brand, will be sold to “Electric Networks of Armenia” if all permits are received.
“We have received the application. The probable buyer is the National Economic and Social Committee and another natural person,” the President of the PSC told “News”. According to the latter, the transaction authorization process is currently underway. Applications are addressed to the Government, National Security Service, Competition Protection Commission for opinions. An application was also addressed to the government staff regarding the transaction, but there is no response yet.
As informed by the PSC, HEC wants to acquire the shares of “Rostelecom” through the company “Molitro Holdings Limited”, 60 percent of whose shares belong to HEC, and 40 percent to Arman Unanyan, a citizen of the Russian Federation. “Molitro Holdings Limited” submitted an application to the PSC on October 19.
Since 2015, the shareholder of HETC is Russian-based businessman Samvel Karapetyan. Currently, 30 percent of the company’s shares belong to “Liormand Holdings Limited”.
