RHOON – Members of the Rotary Rhoon-Barendrecht planted thousands of flower bulbs in and around the Borgstede residential care center in Barendrecht on Saturday morning.

Since 1985, Rotary has been working to reduce polio by vaccinating children on a large scale. Rotary club Rhoon-Barendrecht wants to contribute to this and participates in the End Polio Now Tulip Action 2022 by donating no less than 5,000 tulip bulbs for this charity. Part of the purchase price of the bulbs goes but to reduce Polio.

Thirteen members of the Rotary have planted bulbs on the lawns, in various flower boxes and on some of Laurens Borgstede’s terraces. Some of the bulbs were planted indoors in flower boxes on wards.

“It was a pleasant day, the residents greatly appreciated the action and are looking forward to the result in the spring,” said one of the board members.
