New Delhi: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) found it costly to maintain close relationships with employees. The bank has fired both the CFO and the employee. According to a Reuters report, the bank said on Friday that it has appointed Katherine Gibson as interim Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. He has been appointed in place of Nadine Ahn. Ahn was removed for having a close relationship with a bank employee. Along with Ahn, that employee has also been removed. The bank said that when it came to know about Ahn’s relationship, the matter was investigated.

The investigation found that Ahn had a close relationship with a bank employee but he did not tell the management about it. Due to this closeness, the employee was given more importance in promotion and salary. This is a violation of the bank’s code of conduct. For this reason both have been fired from the job. Ahn previously headed investor relations at the bank and was appointed CFO in September 2021. RBC is a Canadian multinational financial services company and is Canada’s largest bank by market cap. The bank has more than 20 million customers and more than 100,000 employees worldwide.
