In his speech, the Sovereign highlighted the National Program for the Supply of Drinking and Irrigation Water 2020-2027, which reflects a concrete commitment to improving the country’s water infrastructure, continued Ms. Madani, whose association is active in the field of nature protection and the preservation of biodiversity and water resources.
By emphasizing good governance and calling for strict monitoring of the implementation of water projects, His Majesty the King has laid a solid foundation for transparent and responsible water policies, she stressed, adding that this approach is essential to mobilize resources and stakeholders in order to effectively address the water issue.
Furthermore, Ms. Madani called for the implementation, in an integrated manner, of several solutions to address the phenomenon of water stress, emphasizing the imperative of protecting natural ecosystems such as wetlands, forests and waterways to maintain natural hydrological cycles, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
To achieve this goal, she stressed the importance of modernizing irrigation networks, using cutting-edge technologies and upgrading water supply and distribution systems, in addition to implementing water transfer projects between basins to balance the distribution of water resources.
