Royal speech sets out a clear vision for addressing challenges related to water and clean energy (associative actor)

Casablanca – The speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the Throne Day sets out a clear vision in its objectives and approaches to address the challenges related to water and clean energy, said the president of the National Association for the Promotion of Green Jobs (ANAPEV), Soumiya Belkasseh.

Ms. Belkasseh stressed, in a statement to MAP, that this vision is focused mainly on the development of infrastructure such as dams and seawater desalination plants, as well as the interconnection of hydraulic basins, emphasizing the importance of good governance based on coordination between the sectors concerned.

She also highlighted the importance of HM the King’s call for the development of a Moroccan industry in the field of water desalination, consolidated around Moroccan expertise in hydraulic engineering, “the development of a national industry in this field representing one of the essential solutions to deal with the shortage of rainfall”.

Ms. Belkasseh said that the royal speech elevated the issue of water management to the rank of a national cause, stressing that the royal directives, as presented in the speech, challenge the national conscience of all stakeholders (institutions, actors and citizens) to engage actively and responsibly in efforts to preserve water resources.

And to conclude: “This historic speech, which highlights water stress and the problems linked to climate change, while proposing concrete solutions, constitutes a speech addressed to the whole world to learn lessons and exchange good practices in order to overcome the challenges.”
