Due to her cancer, she had resigned from all royal duties. Now Kate has returned to work and held her first meeting.
At the beginning of the year, the palace announced that Princess Kate would have to undergo abdominal surgery. In March, Prince William’s wife finally announced in an emotional video that she had cancer. In order to be able to “focus on my full recovery,” the 42-year-old withdrew completely from public life.
It was only around two and a half months later that she appeared again. Together with her family, Kate watched “Trooping the Colour”, the traditional birthday parade in honor of King Charles III, from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. However, the princess’s appearances remained sporadic. That is now set to change again – Kate is back.
Last week, the mother of three posted another video message and announced that she had completed her chemotherapy. Although she is now cancer-free, “my road to healing and full recovery is still long and I have to take each day as it comes,” said Kate. But she also announced that she would “return to work and make some public appearances when I can manage them.”

The meeting was listed in the Court Circular, the official list of royal engagements. “The Princess of Wales, joint patron of The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, held an Early Years meeting at Windsor this afternoon,” it says. It is the first appointment mentioned there since the Princess held a roundtable discussion for her royal foundation on December 6 last year.
Although she was told she would be working from home for a while to keep in touch with her organizations and coworkers, officially returning to work is a significant step forward for Kate and her recovery, and it’s no surprise that she chose her passion project to do it.
