Jaipur: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is disappointed with the nine-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals. Hardik admitted that both the batsman and bowler failed to get a good start in the match. Pandya said after the match, ‘We got ourselves into trouble in the beginning but the way Tilak and Nihal played, it was fantastic. We could not end the innings as expected and hence we scored 10 to 15 runs less.
He said, ‘In bowling we had to keep the balls on the stumps but in the power play we bowled them away from the body. It was not our best day on the field. We did not perform our best. Everyone knows their role, we need to correct our mistakes and not repeat them.
Hardik flopped badly in the match
In this match against Rajasthan, Hardik Pandya was a flop in every department. Under the captaincy, Hardik decided to bat first after winning the toss. It is often seen in Jaipur that it becomes easier to bat in the second innings but Hardik chose to bat first. Batting first, Mumbai’s top order batting flopped badly.
Whereas in the lower order, when Hardik was batting, he himself struggled to score runs. Hardik was able to score 10 runs in 10 balls with great difficulty. In this innings he hit only one four. After this he could not do anything even in bowling. He bowled two overs in which he gave away 21 runs and did not get a single wicket. In such a situation, it can be clearly said that after the defeat, Hardik was seen making excuses to hide his shortcomings.
