The song ‘Nattukhoothu’ featured in the film RRR has won an Oscar award.
It won the Oscar in the Original Song category at the 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday morning IST.
Music composer Keeravani has composed the music for the song ‘Nattukhoothu’ which was featured in Rajamouli’s RRR film. This song is penned by lyricist Chandra Bose. Rahul Sipliganj and Kala Bhairava add momentum to this song with their vocals.
Actors Jr. NTR and Ram Charan took the song to another level with Teja’s medleys in Prem Rakshit’s choreography.
The song has already collected many awards
The Academy announced on January 24 that four songs have been nominated in the Original Song category at this year’s Oscars.
RRR’s song ‘Nattukhoothu’ bagged the Academy Award in a tough competition with three other songs.
The song ‘Nattukhoothu’ has already won many awards and accolades.
It won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song on January 10 this year. RRR became the first Indian film to win this award.
It won the Critics’ Choice Award in the ‘Best Song’ category on 15 January. The Online Film Critics Society Award in January, the Hollywood Critics Circle Award for Best Original Song in February, and the Houston Film Critics Awards.
Then AR Rahman.. Now Keeravani
Music composer AR Rahman won an Oscar for ‘Best Original Song’ for the song Jai Ho from the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. The film is directed by Danny Boyle from Britain.
Now Keeravani has achieved that feat for Indian language film RRR.
Keeravani, who composed the music for this song, is recognized as a popular music composer not only in Telugu but also in various languages. He has composed hundreds of songs in various languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
He has received many awards and accolades. Annamayya, released in 1997, won the National Award. So far he has won 11 Nandi Awards and 13 South Indian Film Fare Awards.
A sensation upon its release
‘Nattukhoothu’ song was originally released on 10 November 2021 on YouTube. It has been enthralling the audience ever since. It hit a record 17 million views in 24 hours. Later, since the release of the film, the song’s beats have been going viral on social media.

The video for this national anthem was filmed in 2021 in front of the official residence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The song is sung by Rahul Sipliganj and Kalabhairava. Among them Kalabhairava was the son of Keeravani. He has also sung songs in the film Baahubali. The song is sung by Kalabhairava in Telugu and Kannada.
Rahul Sipliganj is famous for singing mass songs. Rahul has stated on various occasions that he sang the track first, liked it and hence sang the original song. Later, Rahul sang the song in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi versions as well.
Ram Charan, Jr. NTR is the main reason why Nattukhoothu song is featured in RRR movie. Director Rajamouli himself has said this many times.
Since both Ram Charan and Jr. NTR are good dancers, Rajamouli thought they should dance together.
Rajamouli told Keeravani this. Keeravani called lyricist Chandra Bose and consulted for a long time.
First they wrote a song that starts with the hook line ‘Nattu… Nattu…’.
Although Chandrabose wrote 90 percent of the song in two days, it took 19 months to complete it.
Dance by Prem Rakshit
Prem Rakshit is well known in the film industry as a choreographer. However, this song has around 95 measures.
30 versions of Ramcharan and NTR’s hand-in-hand signature dance moves have been prepared. Prem Rakshit said this in an interview given to the media during the release of this film.
Ramcharan and NTR’s signature dance moves took 18 takes. In an interview to the media, Jr. NTR once said, “No matter how many times they take it, their feet never match.
They said you can’t turn both faces at the same time. So we shot the dance moves in 18 takes at a time. But after doing everything, in the end, the second take is the final one in the film,” he said.
It can be said that NTR, Charan, Choreographer, Rajamouli worked hard for the song.
