Bengaluru: If it comes to power, the Congress will give Rs 2,000 per month to housewives in Karnataka. The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee’s announcement was made at a function attended by Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Under the ‘Grihalakshmi Yojana’ scheme, Rs 24,000 will be directly transferred to the housewives’ accounts every year. The project was announced at the women’s convention ‘Na Nayagi’ organized by the Congress.
The new announcement comes after the announcement that 200 units of free electricity will be provided to every household every month if the Congress comes to power. Congress said that the objective of ‘Grihalakshmi Yojana’ is women empowerment. The Congress also aims to empower every woman in the state to stand on her own feet. Congress also informed that one and a half crore women are the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Priyanka Gandhi said that a separate manifesto will be prepared for women. Priyanka lashed out at the BJP and accused the state of being ruled by a corrupt government. The situation in Karnataka is absolutely shameful. Your ministers charge 40 percent commission for providing employment. One and a half lakh crores of public money was lost through corruption. Priyanka also alleged that if a development work is done in Bengaluru for Rs 8,000 crore, then Rs 3,200 crore will be the ministerial commission.

Priyanka accused that nothing happens in Karnataka except through corruption. Priyanka said that the state has to pay bribes for digging bore wells, getting driving licenses, job transfers and everything related to the government. Priyanka asked that violence against women is increasing in many parts of the state, including Bengaluru, and what the government has done against it.
